I'm often asked what to expect during a session, to be honest every one of them is different. I will tell you that it's best to just come in to it with lots of patience, I do. We'll find our groove and have a few laughs along the way hopefully. I am not a "say cheese" kind of photographer, but have been known to do just about anything to get a child to smile naturally.
What forms of payment do you accept? I accept cash, check, all major credit cards & PayPal.
What do I wear? Be comfortable and avoid "loud" prints and shirts with lettering on it. I have put a few pins up on my pinterest board, it can be viewed by going to the following website. http://pinterest.com/shelliraephotos/what-to-wear/
Can or should you bring a prop of some sort? I say yes as long as it's tactful and something you want to see in your pictures for years to come. I've had musicians bring along guitars, etc. For birthday shoots, I encourage you to bring balloons and cakes for smashing.
How long does it take to get my photos back? It takes approximately 2-4 weeks (14-28 business days, not including weekends & holidays) for your images to be ready for download. All custom discs, USB's, prints & canvases are ordered from a photography lab out of state and have to be ordered.
Are the images in high resolution? Yes, a print release is also included.
Color or black and white processing? I generally offer both for each image unless it isn't possible or it doesn't work technically.
How do you do your editing? I do almost all of my editing work using the Adobe Creative Suite, which includes Photoshop, Lightroom & Adobe Camera Raw.
What camera do you shoot with? I use a Nikon D750, too many lenses to list but my favorites are my 70-200 f/2.8, 105mm f/2.8, the 24-70mm f/2.8, 35mm f/1.4 and my fisheye lens. I shoot in RAW format in full manual mode.
Do you offer workshops/lessons? Not at this time, but it is something that I hope to add in the near future.
Are you licensed and insured? Yes, I hold a tax ID for the state of Florida as well as Okaloosa county in Florida. This is why I must charge a 6% sales tax to my customers. I am also insured to protect both you the consumer as well as myself.
Are you certified? I learned everything I know from learning it myself, reading blog after blog and taking photography workshops. And I practiced, practiced, practiced...my kids dread when I get out the camera! I am also a member of the PPA (Professional Photographers of America). I have taken numerous workshops on newborn photography and safety. I preach newborn safety!! Tiny humans are not capable of telling you if you're hurting them, it's important to know how to position them and to do it safely.
Do you offer other sessions that aren't listed? Yes I do, I have listed my most popular sessions. If you're interested in something else, just give me a shout!
